Beaumont Nights continues every Thursday through July 30 — Thursday evening market nights on Beaumont Avenue between 6th and 8th Streets in Downtown Beaumont, featuring food vendors, local businesses, live entertainment (including Son of a Gun, a Guns N. Roses tribute, performed last Thursday, July 16), and family-friendly activities. The Summer Concerts in the Park series at Stewart Park (985 Maple Ave) is free every Saturday at 7 PM — a beloved summer tradition for the Pass Area (next concert this Saturday, July 18). The Forest Festival is this Saturday, July 18 — hosted by the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association, celebrating local trails and conservation. The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival is deep into its 103rd season with free concerts just 20 minutes west — upcoming highlights include Disney's Frozen: The Musical (July 23–26), TAIKOPROJECT (July 28), West Side Story in Concert (July 31), The Doo Wop Project (August 7), The Glenn Miller Orchestra (August 11), and the season-ending Fireworks Finale with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra (August 14). Movies in the Park at Beaumont Sports Park and Noble Creek Regional Park offer free family movie nights all summer. Morongo Casino in Cabazon is hosting concerts all summer — Midland (country, July 18), La Fiera De Ojinaga (August 7), and Asia featuring John Payne (August 21), all at 9 PM. In Banning, Nosotros Cafe (3505 W Ramsey St) recently celebrated its Blue Zones Project Approved designation — the first Blue Zones restaurant in the City of Banning, part of the broader Riverside County Blue Zones Project expansion in 2026. A Blue Zones cooking demo comes to Banning on July 28. Vibrance Coffee (264 N Highland Springs Ave) is a newer addition to Banning's Highland Springs corridor, bringing specialty coffee to the area. Looking ahead, Lavender Nights at 123 Farm (August 20 – October 25) transforms the lavender fields with over half a million lights, Stagecoach Days in Banning (September 11–12) brings the area's stagecoach heritage alive with a PRCA rodeo, parade, and carnival at A.C. Dysart Park (general admission $35/day, VIP $125), and King Ludwig's Oktoberfest (October 1–3, now in its 36th year) keeps the community spirit going into fall. The Stewart Park revitalization project is moving forward after the California State Parks Office cleared the pause in June 2026, with Phase I construction resuming on walking trails, a splash pad, inclusive playground equipment, and enhanced lighting — plus Phase II adding a secondary playground, skate park enhancements, and event space. And with Oak Glen's apple festivals, Idyllwild's seasonal mountain events, and the Coachella Valley and Inland Empire all nearby, there's always something happening within a short drive.

Stagecoach Days has been running since 1957. The Redlands Bowl has offered free concerts since 1924. Beaumont Nights fills the Towncenter with families, food trucks, and local vendors every summer. The California State Parks Office lifted the construction pause in June 2026, clearing the project to resume and preserving the city's $2.5 million Phase II grant award. Phase I improvements — walking trails, picnic pavilions, inclusive playground equipment, a year-round splash pad, restroom facilities, and enhanced lighting — are underway. Phase II, funded in part through a $3.1 million federal grant, will add a secondary playground, skate park enhancements, and a designated event space.
The RCTC's 2026 traffic relief plan includes major interchange reconstructions at I-10 at Beaumont Avenue, Highland Springs Avenue, and Pennsylvania Avenue — designed to ease congestion in the Pass Area. A $2 million federal grant supports the Pennsylvania Avenue Grade Separation project. Calimesa is also cooperating with Caltrans and Riverside County on the I-10/Cherry Valley Boulevard Interchange Project to upgrade and reconfigure the existing interchange.
The San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency is advancing the Backbone Pipeline Project — a major $150 million infrastructure initiative installing five phases of welded steel transmission pipelines (48-inch, 36-inch, 30-inch, and two 24-inch lines totaling 88,700 linear feet) to convey State Water Project water from the East Branch Extension pipeline in Beaumont to communities in Banning and Cabazon. Construction began in summer 2025 with completion slated for end of 2026. The Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District is also conducting pipeline replacement work along American Avenue and 11th Street as part of its Capital Improvement Program, while the State Water Project allocation increased to 45% in 2026.
Banning is seeing new growth in 2026 — the Banning Travel Center is in design and construction phase, two new buildings including a hospitality business and a corporate building are under construction, and a new industrial project is coming to the city. These developments signal growing investment in the Pass Area economic future.
The San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in 2026 — securing reliable water supplies for the Pass Area for decades to come. The partnership enhances drought resilience and formalizes cooperation between the two agencies. SGPWA also partnered with the USGS to expand groundwater well monitoring in Banning.
In a major development for the Pass Area, the City of Banning confirmed in May 2026 that Sam's Club will anchor the massive Sunset Crossroads project — a 533-acre mixed-use commercial and industrial development approved by the City Council in March 2026. The project includes provisions for $5 million in funding for Banning Unified School District, a $3 million upfront payment to the city, and construction of a new fire station. The Sunset Crossroads development represents one of the largest economic investments in Banning history and will bring significant retail, jobs, and community infrastructure to the Pass Area when construction begins.
Springs Charter Schools broke ground on the Cherry Valley Student Center in January 2026. The project includes six new classrooms, a main office, outdoor gathering area, staff parking, and an outdoor performing arts center — a significant investment in educational infrastructure for Cherry Valley families.
The City of Beaumont has approved a $135.5 million Capital Improvement Program for 2026, including five park projects, six downtown infrastructure projects, and recreation facility upgrades. The Beaumont Heights Business Centre, a large industrial/office development, is also undergoing environmental review. These investments reflect the Pass Area's continued growth trajectory.
Construction began in April 2026 on the second phase of the SR-60/Potrero Boulevard Interchange improvement project — a $56 million RCTC-funded effort to widen Potrero Boulevard and improve freeway access. Phase II adds new lanes, improved traffic signals, and enhanced connectivity for Beaumont's growing commercial and residential areas. The project is expected to significantly ease congestion for Pass Area commuters when complete, complementing the I-10 interchange improvements already underway.
