Want to know how the September 26-27 weekend went in Beaumont and the San Gorgonio Pass? It was a full one: downtown Banning's Art Walk opened Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM, the Beaumont Elks Lodge poured its Wine Tasting Charity Fundraiser at 3:00 PM, and King Ludwig's Oktoberfest filled Noble Creek Park with three days of German music, food, and family fun in its 36th year, all wrapping up Sunday, September 27. Now that September's big festival weekend has concluded, the October calendar takes over with the Cherry Valley Fall Festival (October 3), Beaumont's free Trunk or Treat at Beaumont Sports Park on October 31, and Banning's month-long Dia de los Muertos Pumpkin Patch. Here's a friendly look back at the weekend, plus what's coming next.
RED Friday was observed September 25
The weekend kicked off with R.E.D. Friday on September 25: wear red and Remember Everyone Deployed. A simple red shirt, hat, or ribbon is a visible way to honor the men and women serving overseas and the families waiting for them here at home. It's a tradition that continues every Friday, so you can still take part this week.

The Downtown Banning Art Walk returned on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 PM along the historic downtown corridor. Around the Pass that weekend
A couple of other favorites were happening around the San Gorgonio Pass area that weekend, each one a nice excuse to get out and soak up the season.
King Ludwig's Oktoberfest · Noble Creek Park
The 36th annual King Ludwig's Oktoberfest ran September 25-27 at Noble Creek Regional Park in Beaumont, presented by the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Recreation and Park District: German food, live music, dancing, and community festivity. The Beaumont Chamber of Commerce also hosted its own Oktoberfest on September 25 at the same park, and both wrapped up Sunday, September 27.
Lavender Nights at 123 Farm · Cherry Valley
Over half a million lights are illuminating the lavender fields and olive groves at 123 Farm through October 25. The fall festival classic runs weekdays 5-10 PM and weekends 3-10 PM in Cherry Valley. It is a must-see seasonal experience, pair it with dinner at the farm or a stroll through the village.

My favorite kind of weekend
I've called the Pass Area home long enough to know the weekends here are special. This past Saturday you could wander downtown Banning's Art Walk, raise a glass for charity at the Elks Lodge, and still make it to Noble Creek for Oktoberfest, three great ways to spend one day, all of them showing off the neighbors, music, and community spirit that make the Pass Area home.
Beaumont Life exists to help you find these moments, whether you've lived here for decades or you're just exploring the area as a future home. If you head out this weekend, enjoy every minute. And if you're ever thinking about buying or selling a home in the Pass Area, I'd be honored to help.
