Looking for something to do the weekend of October 24-25 in Beaumont and the San Gorgonio Pass? It is the last big autumn weekend before Halloween week: Banning celebrates Día de los Muertos with its art competition at the Art & Heritage Museum in the afternoon and the Spooktacular Trunk or Treat at the Community Center in the evening, Lavender Nights at 123 Farm glows for its final two nights of the season, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon hosts its 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, and reggae royalty UB40 headlines the Morongo Events Center on Saturday. Closer to home, the City of Beaumont hosts its fall Community Cleanup on Saturday morning, and the Banning Día de los Muertos Pumpkin Patch keeps the family fun going all month. Here is a friendly, family-first look at the weekend ahead, plus a quick RED Friday reminder and a gentle note that event details can change, so always confirm with the organizers.
Today is R.E.D. Friday
It's Friday, October 23, which means it's R.E.D. Friday: wear red and Remember Everyone Deployed. A simple red shirt, hat, or ribbon is a visible way to honor the men and women serving overseas and the families waiting for them here at home.

Over half a million lights illuminate the lavender fields and olive groves at 123 Farm in Cherry Valley for the last two nights of the season (weekdays 5-10 PM, weekends 3-10 PM). One of the most unique seasonal attractions in the Pass Area, and this is the final chance to see it in 2026.

Halloween Season in Full Swing
Banning's month-long Día de los Muertos Pumpkin Patch (inflatables, rides, a petting zoo, and food vendors) keeps running through October, Beaumont USD's Harvest Festival and ASB Pumpkin Patch happens mid-month, and the City of Beaumont's free Trunk or Treat takes over Beaumont Sports Park on Halloween night, October 31 (5-8 PM), with Calimesa's Trunk or Treat at Summerwind Park the same evening (5:30-7:30 PM). Saturday's Spooktacular Trunk or Treat (4 PM) and Día de los Muertos Art Competition (1 PM) in Banning kick off the Halloween week in style.

Plan ahead: Election Day is Tuesday, November 3
One week after this weekend, the Pass Area heads to the polls. Banning voters decide Measures U, V, and W, which would repeal the City Council's approval of the 533-acre Sunset Crossroads Specific Plan, while Beaumont Unified seeks approval of the $86 million Measure B school bond to fix aging schools and replace portable classrooms without raising tax rates. Find polling places and sample ballots through Riverside County.
And mark the calendar a little further out: Christmas Nights at 123 Farm opens November 5 and runs through January 3 (advance tickets required, no door sales), and the City of Beaumont's free Día de los Muertos celebration returns to the Chatigny Community Recreation Center on Saturday, November 7 (1-5 PM) with mariachi music, altars, crafts, and a Catrina costume contest.

The last golden weekend of fall
This is one of my favorite weekends of the whole year. The light gets low and golden, the air turns crisp, the pumpkins are out, and every little town in the Pass Area seems to be celebrating something. Lavender Nights closing weekend, Banning's Día de los Muertos celebrations, golf for a good cause, and a UB40 concert to cap it off. That is the Pass Area at its best: small-town warmth with big-time fun.
Beaumont Life exists to help you find these moments, whether you've lived here for decades or you're just exploring the area as a future home. If you head out this weekend, enjoy every minute. And if you're ever thinking about buying or selling a home in the Pass Area, I'd be honored to help.
